22 Weeks

Feeling: I've been feeling great this week! We spent a long weekend in Las Vegas and I was fine walking the Strip and hotels....well except the night I wore heels of course...hehe I've been eating a lot lately...or maybe it just feels like it since we've been in Vegas eating like kings for 4 days. It was definitely hard not drinking or eating certain things while we were there, but it will definitely be worth it when we have a happy, healthy baby in November! My co-workers say I look like I swallowed a beachball in Vegas, so apparently I'm showing a lot more in my regular clothes at work now! One of the docs came up to me and said she didn't know I was pregnant until now, so I really MUST look pregnant! haha A few of my patients have given me their opinions on the sex, today a patient's wife told me I'm having a boy because if you have a girl you are wider, and I'm all compact carrying in the front. Well I'm glad I'm not WIDE, so we'll see if she's right about the sex....hehehe ;)

Weight: 134 lbs

Fun Facts About Week 22: This week, your baby weighs in at a whopping pound and measures nearly eight inches, about the size of a small doll. But your little doll (who now has eyebrows, eyelashes, and maybe even some hair on that little head) is a living one who can now perceive light and dark. She can also hear your voice, your heartbeat, your gurgling stomach, and the whoosh-whoosh of blood circulating through your body. And as her brain and nerve endings develop, she may reach for her face (or whatever she can reach) just to experiment with her newfound sense of touch.

As if an ever-expanding belly wasn't enough — now your feet are getting in on the act! That's because the pregnancy hormone relaxin, which loosens your pelvic ligaments when you're expecting, loosens every other ligament too — including the ones in your tootsies. In turn, the bones beneath those ligaments spread slightly, which results, for many women, in a half or whole shoe-size increase. So if you haven't already stashed away your stilettos, now's the time to bid them farewell — at least for a while. Besides, you need sensible shoes to help you balance that big belly and your changing center of gravity.
