33 Weeks

Feeling: My energy has picked up a little now that my cold is getting better. Some nights I sleep great, others I can't get comfortable for what seems like the entire night.  Baby is definitely getting bigger, I feel my abdominals stretching like never before! I feel more wriggling around than kicking, but occasionally a foot or hand or something gets stuck under my left ribs which is uncomfortable if I'm sitting. Steve felt the baby scoot across my abdomen this week and I think it freaked him out a little, haha...he does say that he's surprised my belly still looks really good, no stretch marks or dark lines, and I have to agree, I think my bump butter is working! Its getting harder to get up and down the stairs but I haven't had much back pain or anything yet...my doctor said its probably because I can cure my own back pain, being a PT haha. My next appt is Thursday, but they've still all been very quick. Still no swelling or anything which is good, I find that staying active at work and walking the dog when I get home keeps my energy up and the swelling at bay. We'll see if that keeps up!

Weight: 146 lbs

Fun Facts about Week 33: Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and she could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as she continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.

With midnight bathroom runs, leg cramps, heartburn, and your basketball-sized belly, it's no wonder sleep is elusive. Third trimester insomnia strikes about three-quarters of pregnant women (who may also be coping with a mind that races all night long thinking about your to-do-before-the-baby-comes list). But your body needs rest, so do your best to get comfy — before bed and when you get in it. Grab a pile of pillows, wedge them where you need to, and look on the bright side: Pregnancy insomnia is great training for those sleepless nights to come!
